Living Life Passionately

Set life ablaze. Live with passion.
Do you live life “on purpose”? By this, I am simply referring to the act of consciously following your purpose and goals in life. Don’t know what your specific purpose it yet? Let me be clear in saying your purpose is otherwise known as your passion.
If you want to be happy and fulfilled, and experience a greater contentment, there is no higher joy than discovering your purpose – your core being – what you are sent here to do. I know this sounds extremely ethereal and new age, but we each have a purpose for our being here. Other than simply improving conditions for future generations that follow, we each have a unique gift and drive within.
Without a definite purpose to use a compass to guide you through life, your goals and life plans may not ultimately fulfill your desires. Without this defining purpose, we end up in a boat with no oars quickly headed toward a rocky shore.
Successful people take the time to listen to their inner voice otherwise known as intuition. Once they discover their purpose, they passionately and enthusiastically take the time to understand what they feel within their hearts that they are here to do, and then set life ablaze by following their purpose and passion to no end until they achieve the results they desire.
For some, this can be an easy task as they are born with unique talents and abilities that can be honed into skills. However, through enough persistence and practice, as well as the belief that you can achieve it, you can quite possibly learn any new talent or skill you may need along your journey.
For others it may not be as easy to identify a passion or definitive life purpose. You may find yourself loving your work and what you do only later to discover you have been following your instincts and cultural training, not your true passion. Society has taught many to live mediocre, risk free lives and to follow the millions of others who have a “real job” and punch a time clock. In my opinion, nothing can be more damning to the ineffable power of the human spirit than chaining every last bit of your free will to a mundane job with meager benefits in an effort to fit the social norms that were established hundreds of years ago.
Discover Your Life Purpose Through Intuition
Once you have discovered how to harness the power of your intuition, you can ask a few simple questions to help you get the definitive answers you need from “higher guidance”. A few good examples are:
- What qualities in life do I love to express most?
- What are a few ways I could better express these qualities?
- If the world were perfect according to me, what would it be like?
- If I could work in any field right now, what field would I work in?
- What are some talents or abilities I have that I could use more productively?
Once you have the answers you need to the questions above, or similar questions, you should immediately adjoin your answers into a purpose statement, or statement of objectives such as: “My purpose in life is to help others maximize their potential with focus on success and joy using my talents of speech, integrity, and creativity for the greater good of all whom I connect with”
Feel free to craft this statement in any manner that best works for you and be sure to use pen or pencil to write the first copies by hand – there is much more power in the creation of these statements by your own hand as opposed to typing them into wordpad.
Ease Into Your Life Purpose
Remember, once you identify your passion and purpose, you need not change your entire life right away. Begin by taking small steps each and every day in the right direction. If your passion is music, first buy a guitar or a voice recorder. Then, schedule some guitar or vocal lessons and begin to practice your passion. You will find that taking action steps toward something that you are passionate about or dream of doing is much easier than learning a new trade in a field which you are not entirely thrilled about. Imagine how much shorter employee orientations and training periods would be if those employed actually felt passionate about the work they were about to perform!
