A Plan of Action for Attraction

Believe in yourself and take action.
Since the release of the movie titled “The Secret” in 2006, The Law of Attraction has gone mainstream. To many it seems like a passing “fad”, but for those who know and understand both the law and its applications, The Law of Attraction becomes something extremely powerful in creating successes in life, business, and relationships. Although using The Law of Attraction can make it easy to almost effortlessly experience the life of your dreams, many people are missing the one key ingredient – this ingredient is ACTION.
Renowned Law of Attraction Teachers Esther and Terry Hicks have spoken at length about the importance of the inner journey as well as the action journey. What they have found, and teach others, is that one hour of internal work with the mind and emotions is equivalent to about seven to eight hours of work in the physical waking world.
The pitfall that so many of us often fall into is that we spend so much time on inner work, fertilizing our inner soil for growth, that we completely fail to spend adequate time on action. It is absolutely imperative that you balance both inner and outer work in order to be successful in the utilization of The Law of Attraction.
I will follow along the lines of numerous other teachers in the explanation of the five simple steps you simply must do in order to bring anything desired through The Law of Attraction into reality.
Law of Attraction Action Steps
1. Develop a Strategic Action Plan – You will find that when you create a detailed list of all action steps that you need to take in order to achieve each goal, it is easier to move into action. You would not drive from Pennsylvania to California without a clear map – annotating stops for fuel and rest along the way – so why would you want to tackle any large goals in this manner? With a solid action plan for using The Law of Attraction, you can see a clearly mapped out plan in front of you. It is here that you also must identify steps you need to take in order to overcome each perceived obstacle.
2. Look For “Bread Crumbs” – This brings to mind an old childhood story about following a trail to reach a destination. Identifying action steps should not be difficult. In fact, I am sure that regardless of what you wish to accomplish, someone else has achieved the same results from very similar conditions. Find someone who has already achieved what you wish to achieve and do a little research. If you have direct access to this person, simply ask them what they did to achieve success. Then, follow their lead.
3. Have the Drive to Get to Five – This is a very important piece of wisdom shared by many of the top personal development coaches from around the world. Otherwise known as the “Rule of Five”, this teaching states that EACH DAY we must take five measurable action steps toward our goal. Think of it this way, if each day you walked five blocks to get to a final destination, no matter how far the venture is eventually you will arrive. Remember, these five action steps you perform each day must be meaningful.
4. Grab a Partner and Do-Si-Do – You wouldn’t dance by yourself at a square dancing convention, and accountability should be no different. Many of us develop habits that involve way too much time on inner work. So much time that it becomes easy to slip when it comes to taking action. Sharing your specific action steps or goals with someone you know and trust can be extremely powerful in ensuring you retain your accountability for putting these steps into action. Usually a close friend, your partner is a person with whom you can share your thoughts daily – and you can trust in them helping you remain accountable.
5. Calibrate Your Beliefs – Most of us have beliefs that can limit our success – beliefs such as “I don’t deserve this”, or “there just isn’t enough to go around”, or “I will fail if I try”. These beliefs about our ability to take action and succeed can be our GREATEST problem when we are faced with the daily tasks we must do. Who cares if you are afraid. Who cares if you lack all of the information you think you need. Who cares if you have never done it before. If we are to ever successfully set sail with anything, we must first learn to be able to leave the shore. Take that leap of faith. Once you take action, you get feedback – and this feedback will tell you how to do it better next time even if you don’t hit a bullseye on the first shot.
Remember, the last six letters of Attraction are ACTION. If you want results, you MUST take action.
